Migration - Concepts and Raju's Story

People migrate from one place to another for several reasons. Searching for place with high level of security and opportunity make people migrate. They tend to settle at the place where they can find ample opportunities to work and options to work while living safely.

Migration means moving of people from one place to another. Migration is affected by various social factors. In many societies brides (women) move to their husband's home or household after marriage as is culturally accepted.

Rural areas often lack advanced educational infrastructure, forcing students to move to urban centers for higher education. This is a well-documented trend in migration studies.

The movement of people from one place to another place is known as migration. Migration is of two types: immigration and emigration.

Political disturbance is a breach of peace motivated by the Politics. Inter ethnic conflict means rivalry or clash between two ethnic groups. These disturbances are characterised by violence, bloodshed, chaos and disorder. Many people from the areas where these violence are at the climax leave homes in fear of losing their lives or getting hurt. While some people take active part in protest or conflict and leave their homes to take active part in hostilities.

People migrate in large number from rural to urban area in search of jobs. There are several other factors of migration too like Political factors, natural factors, economic factors, social factors, etc.

Germany and Sweden are historically cited in geography texts as countries that were relatively homogeneous but experienced significant cultural shifts due to large-scale immigration.

Mukadam is a person who lends money as loan for the expenses of villagers and explains to the villagers in which areas they would go for the next six months and people just earn enough money to keep them going through these months. to manage the remaining six months, when there is no rain, and no work in the fields everyone borrows money from the mukadam. To pay back this money people work for Mukadam. Mukadam is an agent for sugarcane factories. He helps them to find work in sugarcane fields.

People migrate from one place to other for work, food and shelter. Few people stay near sugar cane factories for six months and live in huts made of dry grass and sugarcane leaves. Women and children would tie bundles of sugarcane as it was simple and do not involve high manual labor. On the other hand men involved in strenuous work.

Village life is known for vast fields, growing crops, open environment, plenty of trees and animals. The environment in villages is pure and liveable. One can sense fresh air running through veins, freshness and calmness while in a village. We usually go and spend our vacations in the village due to this reason.

The basic needs of human beings are food, clothing, shelter, health etc, which can only be fulfilled through money. So in order to earn money people migrate from one place to another. Human migration is the movement of people from one place to another with the intentions of settling, permanently are temporarily in a new location. People from other states migrated near the new thermal plant in order to work and find better living condition.

There is a huge difference between village life and city life. Food habits in the village are natural as people rely on homemade healthy food such as vegetables and fruits. They grow crops and rear cattle and drink milk to stay healthy and since transportation is not that advance in villages people travel on foot which keeps them fit. While in cities people eat junk food or fast foods and soft drink and due to inappropriate exercise they become vulnerable to many disease like obesity, blood pressure etc.

Raju's father was an engineer in a thermal plant. His father was transferred to a new thermal plant to work there as an engineer, as a result of which Raju's family had to migrate from their original place to the workplace of his father.
