Kyasamballi Chengalaraya Reddy is remembered today as the first chief minister of Mysore state. He founded the Praja Paksha or people's party right after graduating law school in 1930. The party's main aim was to install a stable government in the Princely State of Mysore. His federation joined forces with the Indian National Congress in the fight for India's freedom.

Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka state of India. It is one of the most populous cities of India, with more than 10 million people living in the city. It is home to many parks and educational institutes and is known as 'Silicon Valley of India' due to its vibrant IT industry.

The Chief Architect of Karnataka Integration and the second Chief Minister of Karnataka, Kengal Hanumanthaiah is from Bengaluru division. The Vidhanasoudha building was built during his tenure as the Chief Minister. The Vidhana Soudha houses the state secretariat and legislature of Karnataka. It is truly a secular edifice, showing features of British, Dravidian, and Indo-Islamic architecture 

The earliest rulers of Bengaluru were from the Ganga Dynasty. Kuvalalapura was their capital (the present Kolar).

Smt. Mayarao who contributed immensely in the field of dance, is from Bengaluru. She is a famous dancer and she also opened a school of dance, Natya Sarswathi to teach and has trained numerous dancers.

Karnataka is divided into four Revenue Divisions. They are viz. Bengaluru Division (Nine Districts), Mysuru Division (Eight Districts), Belagavi Division (Seven Districts) and Kalburgi Division (six districts); thirty districts in total.

Kaggaladu is a village in the Sira Taluka of Tumakuru District, and it is located around 130 km from Bengaluru. Birds like Grey Herons and Storks are a major attraction in the Kaggaladu Bird Sanctuary. Herds of blackbuck and the Great Indian Bustard are also said to wander in this sanctuary.

The most productive gold mines of the country are in Karntaka, and Kolar Gold Mine is famous among all. But, the gold deposit of this mine is exhausted. Iron ore deposits are found in Tumakuru and Chitradurga districts.

Ramanagara was carved out of the erstwhile Bangalore Rural district. Thus, Ramanagara is a hotspot for keen investors. It is well connected by road, rail, port, and airport and is only 50 km from Bengaluru city. It is also earmarked to be a textile hub with Asia's largest cocoon market housed here. Highly potent with notified land banks of many acres and a diverse investment portfolio in urban infrastructure, textiles and apparels, food processing, media, tourism development and export promotions are the highlight attraction here.

Jog Falls is created by the Sharavathi River falling from a height of
253 m. The falls is situated in the dense evergreen forests of Western
Ghats. Jog falls is also known as Gerusoppaa falls, is the highest
untiered waterfalls in India as it drops directly and does not stream on
to the rocks.

Shidlaghatta is a city in Chikkaballapur district in the Indian state of
Karnataka. Shidlaghatta is also known as the silky town of India. It is
identified as a breeding center for silkworms and sericulture
industry comprising mainly of reeling, twisting and weaving. It has many
small-scale industries producing high quality raw and twisted silk and exports across the country like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat etc.

The Chitradurga fort also known as Yelu Suthina Kote is
fortified by seven circular walls, three of which are on the ground and
four on the rocky hills. Chitradurga fort has around19 majestic doors,
38 smaller doors, 35 special entry points and four secret
entrances. Inside the fort, there are ponds and temples.

Chikkathirupathi temple is located at a distance of around 29kms from
Kolar near a place called Guttahalli. The temple resembles the famous
Sri Venkateshwara Temple of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The temple was
built in the Dravidian era during the reign of Chola Kings in 11 Century
AD.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is located about 22 Kms south of Bengaluru
city. It is one among the few places in the world where wilderness is
preserved so close to a big city. It is having different units such as
Zoo, Safari, Butterfly Park and Rescue Center (Conservation of captive
animals).

The temple is also known as Gavipuram Cave Temple. In the 16th century,
Nadu Prabhu Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore, revamped and extended
the temple. It is dedicated to the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva. Every year
it attracts thousands of devotees during the astronomical phenomenon
which illuminates the Shivalingam and the festival of Shivaratri.

The biggest lake in South India 'Shanthi Sagar is in Channagiri. It is also known as Soolekere by the locals and is around 800 years old. It has a circumference of 64kms. The main purpose of this lake is for irrigation. It took around 3 years to construct this tank thus making it the largest man-made tank in India.

Madhugiri means honey hill. It is Monolith i.e a geological feature
consisting of a single massive stone or rock. It is the second largest
monolith in Asia. There is also a historic fort on top of the hill which
was constructed by Raja Hira Gowda in the 17th century.

The Monkey disease is caused by Kyasanur forest disease virus (KFDV), a member of the virus family Flaviviridae, which also cause yellow fever and dengue. Monkeys and small mammals like porcupines, rats, squirrels, mice and shrews are common reservoir hosts of the virus. The symptoms include cough, headaches, vomiting and Diarrhoea.

Kudmal Rangaswamy of Mangaluru dedicated his life for the upliftment of untouchables. Kudmul Ranga Rao was greatly influenced by the teaching of Brahma Samaj. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was also inspired by his duties towards the untouchables and Dalits.

The river Cauvery orginates in Talakaveri of Kodgu district. The river
covers a distance of about 765 km and flows through the state of
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and finally merges into the Bay of Bengal. On
its course to the Bay of Bengal, the river is joined by its tributaries,
which include Shimsa, Hemavathi, Honnuhole, Arkavathi, Kapila,
Lakshmana etc.

Born in the well known Karanth family, Sri K. Ramakrishna Karant, a freedom fighter, one of the architects of the Karnataka state and a senior advocate of the Supreme Court was the head of Karnataka Ekikarana Samiti. He was also a Land Revenue Minister in the Madras Presidency.

The Central Food Technology Research located at Mysuru city is a
constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial research,
New Delhi and came into existence during 1950. It's purpose was to
pursue in-depth research and development in the areas of food science
and technology. It also has ties and partnerships with many
International research organisations  for these purposes.

Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan ruled Mysuru from 1761 to 1799.Tippu
waged many wars against the Britishers. He negotiated with the French to
dethrone the British rule in India. He also undertook numerous
people-friendly measures in his state.Tippu died in a war against the
Britishers in 1799. Then, the British handed over the administration
back to Wodeyars.

A theatre repertory group Rangayana is in Mysuru and it is funded by the
government. This repertory produces and enacts plays throughout the
year. The branches of Rangayana have been established at various parts
of the state. Rangayana has also contributed in a very significant way for enhancing the social and cultural vitality of the society.

It is said that the first silk cocoons were imported to Mysuru from
China by Tippu Sultan, with a vision of making Mysore, a leading nation
in quality silk production. After the Sultan introduced Sericulture (silk farming) in the Kingdom of Mysore, several hybrid silk
worm varieties were created which were adapted to Indian climatic
conditions. Ever since, Sericulture in Karnataka has flourished
especially in the Mysuru district.

Karnataka has the highest number of tigers in India. Tiger Conservation
project is in force in Karnataka. Three Tiger Conservation Projects out
of five projects of the state are in the Mysuru division. Bandipur,
Nagarahole, and Bhadra are the three tiger projects of this division.
Tigers are killed for their skin. Thus, tiger protection projects are
implemented to protect them from poaching.

Karnataka is the only Indian state where felsite is produced.
Large occurrences of Felsite rocks are reported to have been found in
Mysore. Felsite display either grey or pink colour as well a combination
of both these colours.

All the districts of Mysuru division have district hospitals.
There are rural sub health centres in rural areas to provide medical
care to rural people. Children are regularly vaccinated. To provide
health care facilities to pregnant women health assistants and
ASHA workers are available. Thus, the Mysuru division has the lowest
Child Mortality Rates. The life expectancy of people is better and
Maternal Mortality Rates are also lower.

Srirangapatna located in Mandya district is a historical and religious
centre. The place is named after Sri Ranganathaswamy temple. This was
the capital city of Wodeyar dynasty till British took over it in the
year 1799. There are many Masjids, arms depots and fort
constructed by Tippu Sultan in this place.

Moodubidre is a small temple town in the state of Karnataka. The town of
Moodubidre is considered to have total of about eighteen Jain Temples.
It is also known as the 'Jain Kashi' of South India and is an ancient
center of Jain learning.

The town of Hassan was named after the Hasanamba temple. The Hasanamba
temple holds great significance in the life of people of Hassan. The
temple opens only once a week in a year in the month of October, during
Diwali and the deity worshipped at the temple is Hasanamba.

Kollegal in Chamarajanagara district of Karnataka is one of the largest taluks in the state of Karnataka in South India. It is also known as the "Silk City" and renowned for its silk saree industry.

The Kodagu district is part of the Mysuru division. It is located in the South west part of the Mysuru division. The Kodagu district was ruled by many rulers. The Haleri dynasty ruled over the Kodagu district from the seventeenth century. It remained an independent state after independence and got merged with the Mysuru state in the year 1956.

Kodagu is a hill station with valleys, forests, waterfalls, woods,
wildlife, history and trekking trails. It is also known as Coorg.
Climatic characteristics of Coorg remain pleasant throughout the year,
specially in summer. Some upper hilly region it may be below 0C in
winter. Thus, it is also called the Kashmir of Karnataka.

Devanooru, the birth place of Kannadas famous poet Lakshmeesha is in
the Chikkamagalur district. His Jaimini Bharath is Kannadas most
popular book. Jaimini Bharata is a version of the Hindu epic
Mahabaratha. Lakshmisa was also considered a successful story-teller
with an ability to narrate the Upakhyanas ("story within a story").

Bylakuppe is situated 90 kilometers from Mysore. It comprises of two
Tibetan refugee settlements that were setup in 1961 and 1969
respectively and has now grown into a full-fledged town housing the
largest Tibetan population outside of Dharamsala in India.

The temple of Krishna is here. It is said that, the idol of Shri Krishna
was installed by the Dvaita philosopher Madhvacharaya. It is also said
that Lord Krishna turned on his own from the East to the West direction
to provide a view to Kanakadasa. The spot where this view was given is
called as Kanakana Kindi.

The Kodagu district is part of the Mysuru division. It is located in the South west part of the Mysuru division. The Kodagu district was ruled by many rulers. The Haleri dynasty ruled over the Kodagu district from the seventeenth century.

The University of Mysore was established on July 27, 1916. It is
the sixth oldest in the country and the first in the state of Karnataka.
Also, it is the first university of the country to be established
outside the limits of the British India. The university was founded by
the Maharaja of erstwhile Princely State of Mysore Shri Nalvadi
Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Krishnaraja Wodeyar III was the ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore who, after years of British administration, secured the rendition (restoration) of the state in 1881.
