Educational development in India - class-IX

Operation Blackboard is a centrally sponsored programme which was started in $1987$ immediately after the Rajiv Gandhi NPE (National Policy Education) of $1986$.

Mid day meal scheme is a scheme introduced by the government to promote basic primary education. The scheme helps to provide better nutrients to the kids by providing food. It is introduced with the intention to increase attendance, retain kids, and also improves nutritional level of the kids. 

The revenue generated by the education cess will be utilised to fund primary education. Primary education is the basic or the very first level of education, it is the most important level of education and is a fundamental right. Hence, the proceeds from education cess is used to fund primary education. 

Sarva shiksha abhiyan is an Indian government initiative of making free and compulsory education to children between the age of 6-14 years of age as a fundamental right. This program is implemented in all the districts of the country.

children of age-group of $6 - 14$ in school/ Education Guarantee
Scheme (EGS) through Centre/ Bridge Course by $2005$.
(ii) Bridge all gender and social category Gap at primary stage by $2007$ and at elementary education level by $2010$.
(iii) Universal retention by $2010$.

Per capita education expenditure is the amount of expenditure done on education during the year. State of Bihar has the lowest per capita income. 

Education expenditure is expressed as a percentage of total government expenditure/total government expenditure. It is expressed as how much of the total income is being committed to the development of education in the country. 

The percentage of education expenditure of total government indicates importance of education in the scheme of things before the government. Percentage of education expenditure of total expenditure shows how much of the total expenditure has the government done on education thereby showing its importance. 

Elementary education takes the highest major share of total expenditure and higher education is the least. Elementary education/primary education is the basic or the first level of education and hence, government emphasises on it more. 

Education expenditure is expressed as a percentage of total government expenditure/total government expenditure. It is expressed as how much of the total income is being committed to the development of education in the country. GDP is a monetary measure of the market value of goods and services produced over the year in the country or the total expenditure on goods and services over the year or government expenditure. 

Per capita education expenditure is the amount of expenditure done on education during the year, The highest per capita expenditure is for the state of Lakshadweep. 

The main source of human capital is investment in education. People invest in education to provide knowledge to their kids and also expect future returns.

Sarva shiksha abhiyan is an Indian government initiative  introduced in the 86th Amendment of the constitution of India of making free and compulsory education to children between the age of 6-14 years of age as a fundamental right. 

Educational achievements in the country are indicated in the country in terms of adult literacy, primary education completion rate, youth literacy rate. Literacy means having the ability to read and write whereas primary education is now a fundamental right for the kids aged 6-14 which will help them learn reading and writing.
