Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is a coastal city, which gives it a maritime or tropical monsoon climate. It does not have a continental climate, which is characterized by large temperature extremes.

River
Krishna is one of the most important peninsular Rivers in India. It is one of
the most extensive rivers in central-southern India. It emerges from Mahabaleswar
in the vicinity of Jor village in the state of Maharashtra. The river
ultimately pours into the Bay of Bengal at Hamasaladeevi in Andhra Pradesh, on
the eastern shorelines of India. The length of Riiver Krishna is almost 1,300
km. The delta of the river is one of the productive regions in India. This
river functions as a source of irrigation water for Karnataka, Maharashtra, and
Andhra Pradesh.

River
Godavari is an important River in India. It flows from western to southern
India. This river emerges from Trimbakeshwar in Nashik District of Maharashtra.
After setting off, the river runs towards the east, traversing the Deccan
Plateau. In the end, the river empties into the Bay of Bengal at Narasapuram in
West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. River Godavari is 1,465 km long and
ranks as the second longest river in the country. The drainage basin of the
river is present in six states of India: Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh,
Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Orissa.

The word Maharashtra has come from the land of marathi speaking people i .e Mahatrashtri. It is the third largest state of India after Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It covers the borders of Madhya pradesh to the north, Chhattisgarh to the east,  Telangana to the southeast. Karnataka to the south and Goa to the southeast. Arabian sea makes up the Maharastra's west coast.

Maharashtra belongs to the western India. States of Goa, Rajasthan , Gujarat along with the union territory of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli of India all these belong to the western India. This region has a large urban population. It is also highly industrialized.

Chandrapur district is in easternmost direction which lies in Nagpur division. Then, Amravati district lies in Amravati division. After that, Aurangabad district lies in Aurangabad Division. Nasik is in westernmost direction and it lies in Nasik Division.

It is predominantly spoken by the Marathi people of Maharashtra. This language has been originated from the Maharashtra prakit. Marathi is an official language of Maharashtra. Malvani and Konkani has been greatly influenced by Marathi.
