Wool - animal fibre - class-VII

Yak, Camel, and Goat all yield wool.

The correct order in the processing of wool is = $Shearing - scouring - sorting - fiber spinning - fiber dying -  rolling$

Scouring,the term ‘scouring’ applies to the removal of impurities such as oils, wax, gums, soluble impurities and dirt commonly found in textile material to produce a hydrophilic and clean cloth.

Wool is obtained from fleece (hair) of sheep or yak.

The various steps for processing fibers into wool are as follows:

• Shearing: The fleece of the sheep along with a thin layer of skin is removed from its body.
• Scouring: The sheared skin with hair is thoroughly washed in tanks to remove grease, dust, and dirt.
• Sorting: The hairy skin is sent to a factory where the hair of different textures is separated or sorted.
• The small fluffy fibers, called burrs, are picked out from the hair.
• The fibers can be dyed in various colours, as the natural fleece of sheep and goats is black, brown or white.
• The fibers are straightened, combed and rolled into yarn.

Protein ,animal fibers  are natural fibers that consist largely of particular proteins. Instances are silk, hair/fur (including wool) and feathers. The animal fibres used most commonly both in the manufacturing world as well as by the hand spinners are wool from domestic sheep and silk.

$C$, sheep shearing is the process by which the woolen fleece of a sheep is cut off. The person who removes the sheep's wool is called a shearer Typically each adult sheep is shorn once each year (a sheep may be said to have been "shorn" or "sheared", depending upon dialect). The annual shearing most often occurs in a shearing shed a facility especially designed to process often hundreds and sometimes more than $3,000$ sheep per day.

The process of sheep shearing shed is removal of $fleece$.

Although $sheeps$ are associated with the production of wool, there are certain $goats$ that produce wool fibre. Fibres such as Mohair from Angora goats, cashmere wool from many breeds of goats. $Llamas$ produce very soft and lanolin free wool. 

The uppermost layer of the skin is dead.

The fleece of the sheep along with a thin layer of skin is removed from its body. This process is called shearing. Usually, hair are removed during the hot weather which enables the sheep to survive without their protective protective coat of hair.

Wool is a textile fiber obtained from sheep and certain other animals like goats (cashmere/mohair) and camels. Dogs are not a source of wool.
