Houses and its type - class-V

Igloos are houses made of snow. They are built in extremely cold areas where there is snow all round the year. These are houses for the tribe called Eskimos.

Houses are built according to the climate and material available in that area. In the hilly areas, houses with sloping roofs are preferred so that snow and water may slip down. Besides, stones are easily available there than sand. Hence stones are mostly used to build houses in these areas. Even the roofs are made up of slate stone.

Big cities have larger population but less area. So, multi storied buildings are built so that more and more people can live in less area. Houses in these buildings are called as flats.

Another type of houses built for enjoyment are found in the lakes of Kashmir and Kerala. These are called boat houses. They have big, well and furnished rooms. These houses float on the water. Tourists stay in these houses.
