Limestone was a traditional and widely used binding material in historical Indian architecture, including the construction of forts, due to its durability and availability.

Janjira fort is situated in Maharastra . It is situated in the village of Murud , in Raigad district of Maharastra.Janjira is the Marathi corruption of the Arabic jazirah meaning an island.

Hillforts are one of the most prominent types of prehistoric monuments. It is a type of earthworks used as a defended settlement. It is located on high hills to exploit the rise in elevation for defensive advantage. 

Stone was the primary material for fortifications in medieval India because it provided the necessary strength and resistance against siege warfare and environmental factors.

Land forts (Bhuikot) were specifically constructed on flat plains to protect territory, as opposed to hill, sea, or forest forts which utilized natural terrain features.

Construction of historical forts involved a mixture of locally available materials including lime, rubble, stones, and bricks to ensure structural integrity.

Forest forts (Van-durg) were strategically built in dense forests to utilize natural cover, such as trees and wildlife, as a defensive barrier against invaders.

Sea forts (Jal-durg) were constructed in coastal or island locations, using the surrounding water as a natural moat for protection.

Maota lake is located in Amber fort of Rajasthan near Jaipur. It has a saffron garden in the center. The fort was built by Meenas around 1532  later ruled by Raja Man Singh. It was declared Unesco world heritage site in 2013. The art of making lakes or any water body around the fort was mainly started by Mughals. 

Writing on the walls , spreading garbage in the premises , not proper upkeep and not the repair of ancient buildings or forts , not spreading the awarness around about these monuments and their importance are not the ways to protect the forts.

New Delhi is the capital of India. The National Museum is situated in New Delhi.

White Marble was used to build the Taj Mahal. It is situated on the bank of Yamuna, in the city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Red Sandstone was used to construct Qutub Minar. It was widely used in constructing forts due to it's various qualities like it's durability, strength, resistance to abrasion, easy handling, availability and so on.

Shah Jahan preferred to rule the Mughal Empire from Delhi. He founded the walled city of Shahjahanabad in 1638 which today is known as Old Delhi and also buit the Red Fort which became the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years, until 1856. The architectural elements of Red Fort are typical of Mughal building, reflecting a fusion of Persian, Timurid and Hindu traditions.

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The grave of Mumtaz lies in the centre of Taj. A beautiful saying is inscribed on one of its arches – "Pious hearts are welcome in the garden of Paradise."

The Government Museum also known as Egmore Museum or the Madras Museum is the second oldest museums in India. It is located in the neighbourhood of Egmore in Chennai. It has been built in the Indo-Saracenic style, and it houses rare works of well known artists. It has the largest collection of Roman antiquities outside Europe.

The Prince of Wales Museum is a heritage building in Mumbai. This museum comprises of a number of ancient artifacts. The foundation stone of this edifice was laid down by the Prince of Wales on the 11 November 1905 and it was established as a museum on 10 January 1922. 

The Calico Museum of Textiles in Ahmedabad is the premier textile museum of India. The museum is managed by the Sarabhai Foundation. This museum contains one of the world's finest collections of antique and modern Indian textiles, all handmade and up to 500 years old.

The Indian Museum in Kolkata is the oldest museum in south-east Asia and the largest in the country.

Salar Jung Museum is an art museum located at Darushifa on the southern bank of the Musi river in the city of Hyderabad. It is popularly known for its one of largest one-man collections of the world. It is one of the three National Museums of India and one of the largest museums in the world.

The National Railway Museum is a well-known landmark located in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, showcasing the history of the Indian Railways.

Napier Museum is a popular museum in Thiruvananthpuram that showcases glimpse of the Kerala's rich cultural heritage. It houses a great number of artifacts like idols, carvings, eeapons and coins and shows us the complete history of the region with respect to the different rulers who ruled it. Built in the 19th century, this museum has Indo-Saracenic architecture with gothic roof and minarets.
