Neighbours of India - class-VIII

One of the southern neighbours of India is Sri Lanka.

McMahon Line is a border between India and China as a part of treaty signed in 1914. The line is named after Sir Henry McMahon, the then foreign secretary of the British Government in India.

Durand Line is the border that separates Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was established in the year 1893 after a memorandum of understanding between Mortimer Durand of British India and Amir Abdur Rahman Khan of Afghanistan.

On 17th August 1947 India and Pakistan border was demarcated. It was called the Radcliffe Line named after its architect Cyril Radcliffe. This border is present on east side between India and East Pakistan (presently Bangladesh) and on the west side again between India and West Pakistan.
