Legal awareness and right to information - class-VIII

The objective of the right to information was to improve the transparency and accountability of the government of India. 

Under the Right to Information (RTI) Act in India, the application fee for requesting information is Rs. 10.

The Right to Information Act, 2005, was fully implemented on October 13, 2005, following its enactment earlier that year.

The time limit is 30 days from the date your application is sub,itted. 

Its not fully implemented in Jammu and KAshmir

The Right to Information Act was passed by Parliament on 15 June 2005 and came fully into force 
on 12 October 2005.  With this law anyone can attain any information by writing an application. 

The Act covers the whole of India except Jammu and Kashmir, where J&K Right to Information Act 
is in force. It covers all constitutional authorities, including the
executive, legislature and judiciary; any institution or body
established or constituted by an act of Parliament or a state
legislature. It is also defined in the Act that bodies or authorities
established or constituted by order or notification of appropriate
government including bodies "owned, controlled or substantially
financed" by government, or non-Government organizations "substantially
financed, directly or indirectly by funds"

Each state of India has a chief justice. There is also a chief justice of India who would be the head of judiciary and supreme court. 

The passing of this act gave free legal service to a citizen of India when he or she is unable to bear the expenditure of legal fees.

The National legal services day is celebrated on 5th November. 

The
National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been formed under
the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free Legal Services
to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for
amicable settlement of disputes.
