The correct answer is 'last' (refers to position).

'Later' is used for referring to time as in afterward. Use 'latter' when referring to the second of two persons or things mentioned previously. Here it refers to the second part of the book.

Preposition 'from' show the commencement of an action in the future. 'Of November' is the correct expression. 'To' means 'till'.

'Your droppings' means an animal or bird is being addressed. Hence, 'shoo' that means 'go away'.

'Hush' is to call for silence or secrecy. 

'Whew' is symbolically a long sigh as if in relief on some escape.
