Mediation is the method where the management will take the assistance of the outsider to settle the conflict.

Lockout means the action of an employer in temporarily closing down or shutting down his undertaking or business of employment.

Generally the act of increasing the knowledge and skills of an employee for a particular job is called Training.

When an employee is not trained well then he cannot perform well.

When an employee joins the job he is called Probationer. In order to increase his knowledge about his job he is given training.<o:p>

Mostly development is provided in the areas of principles and techniques of management, administration, organization and allied areas.

Training is given to the employee to have knowledge about the job so, it is a short term process.<o:p>

Conciliation is the method of reuniting the two conflicting groups in the industry.

All mechanization, automation and computerization are the results of technology advancement.

Where trade unions are weak, the method of compulsory arbitration is used.

Training is related to the areas of operations, technical and allied areas. So, it is mostly given to technical and non-managerial personnel.

This is one of the methods used in off-the-job training, where the actual work conditions are stimulated in a class room.<o:p>

During stay-away strike only, the work men stay away from the work place.

During mouth-shut strike, the teachers shut their mouth and don't teach anything to the students. 

Low morale cannot be considered as the advantage of training because once the employee is well trained then he is able to meet the basic human needs,  which further boosts the morale.

Token or protest strike is in the nature of signal for the danger ahead. As the workers do not work for an hour or a day so, it is considered as a short term strike.

Secondary strikes are against third party.

Generally when an employee fails to be at the work spot at the scheduled time then it is called “Employee Absenteeism”.

When an employee remains absent from work by taking permission from higher authority then it is said to be authorized absenteeism.

During wildcat strike, the strikers strike the work without any prior notice or with short notice.

It is a method of human interaction that involves realistic behavior in imaginary situations.

No company will encourage its employees to get absent. So, this method is never used in minimizing absenteeism.<o:p>
