English Grammar: Subject-Verb Agreement and Noun Forms

The auxiliary verb need is followed by an infinitive without to. It doesn’t have forms like needs or needed.

‘The Committee’ is singular. Hence, ‘has’ will be used. No other option makes sense here.

'Will' must be followed by 'be' to make any sense here. ‘Was’ is the correct option because ‘he’ is singular.

‘Spectacles’ is a plural. Hence, ‘have’ will be used. Other options do not make a meaningful sentence here.

'The commission’ is a collective noun and is treated as plural when the members are divided in their opinions.

‘Remains’ is the correct option. Other options are incorrect as ‘remain’ is a verb.
