General Awareness - 2 (DSSSB Grade II )

The Railway Staff College, now known as the National Academy of Indian Railways, is located in Vadodara (formerly Baroda), Gujarat. It is the premier training institution for Indian Railways officers and has been situated there since its establishment in 1952.

Biosphere reserves face significant threats from various forms of pollution including air pollution, water contamination, and industrial waste. Pollution disrupts delicate ecological balances, harms wildlife, and degrades habitat quality. While rainfall and soil erosion are natural processes, and population rate affects many ecosystems, pollution represents the most direct and widespread anthropogenic threat to protected areas.

This 1,750 km gas pipeline was commissioned in 1987 and is one of India's major natural gas distribution networks. Maharashtra is connected to other gas networks but not the HBJ pipeline.

Gorakhpur railway station has the longest platform in India at 1,366 meters (opened in 2013). Previously, Kharagpur held this record. Pune and Mumbai (CSMT) have long platforms but not the longest.

Jammu and Kashmir has several narrow gauge railway lines, including the famous Kangra Valley Railway and the Jammu-Srinagar line under construction (though parts use broad gauge). These narrow gauge lines were built to navigate the difficult Himalayan terrain where standard gauge would be challenging. The other states listed (Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala) primarily use broad gauge networks.

Among eastern Indian states, Mizoram has the highest proportion of scheduled tribes in its population, with tribal communities constituting over 90% of the state's population. This makes Mizoram unique among eastern states. While other northeastern states like Manipur, Nagaland, and parts of Assam have significant tribal populations, Mizoram has the highest percentage.

 Mahl language is spoken the most by people of Minicoy Island and Lakshadweep.
