Nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide are important constituents of acid rain. 

It is important to conserve forests and wildlife so as to protect biodiversity.

Biological magnification (also called biomagnification) refers to the process where non-biodegradable substances like pesticides or heavy metals accumulate in increasing concentrations as they move up the food chain. Organisms at higher trophic levels consume many organisms from lower levels, concentrating these toxins.

Paper cups are biodegradable because they're made from plant fibers that microorganisms can break down naturally. Plastic cups are synthetic and persist in the environment for hundreds of years. Using paper cups reduces long-term environmental pollution.

DDT is a synthetic pesticide that cannot be broken down by natural processes - it persists in the environment and accumulates in food chains. Manure (animal waste), paper, and cotton cloth are all natural materials that microorganisms can decompose relatively quickly.

It is heartening to see the revival of traditional water harvesting systems in various ecological zones of India. Communities in the face of adversity have revived or created new water harvesting systems. They have made checkdams, johads and other structures to harvest every drop of rain. Khadin, Surangam and Eris are ancient water harvesting systems.

Coliform is a group of bacteria whose presence in water indicates contamination.

Fresh water sources have low salt concentrations suitable for drinking and irrigation. Seas contain saltwater and are not freshwater sources. Ponds, rivers, and lakes are all bodies of fresh water that cycle through the Earth's hydrological system.

Loss of biodiversity will lead to loss of ecological stability.

Wildlife does not cause any harm to forests.  

Aquarium is an artificial ecosystem.

Syringes should not be recycled or reused as they can cause infection. So, it is better to discard these syringes by destroying them.

Fish is the tertiary consumer in the pond food chain.

Kerosene is a fossil fuel and it is exhaustible.
