Uttar Pradesh sends the most members to the Rajya Sabha (31 seats) due to its large population. Rajya Sabha representation is based on the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution, allocating seats roughly proportional to state population. UP is followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with fewer seats.

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu is the birth name of Mother Teresa, who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata. She was called 'Mother Teresa' after taking her religious name, and 'Saint Teresa of Calcutta' after canonization. Sister Nirmala succeeded her, Nightingale refers to Florence Nightingale, and Sister Nivedita was an Irish disciple of Swami Vivekananda.

Lord Mountbatten served as the last Viceroy of India from 1947-1948 and oversaw the partition of India. He remained as the first Governor-General of independent India until 1948. Lord Wavell preceded him as Viceroy, Lord Canning was the first Viceroy, and Robert Clive was an earlier colonial administrator in the 1700s.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad served as independent India's first Education Minister from 1947-1958. He was a key freedom fighter, scholar, and advocate for universal education. S. Radhakrishnan became Vice President, C. Rajagopalachari was the last Governor-General, and Baldev Singh was the first Defence Minister.
