First in the World - Pioneers and Achievements

Walt Disney pioneered the use of animal characters in animation to reach mass audiences. His Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other characters became cultural icons that raised awareness about animals through entertainment. The Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes in Paris, established in 1793 during the French Revolution, was the world's first public zoo.
