Albert Einstein, a German mathematical physicist, developed the theory of relativity (both special and general). Newton formulated classical mechanics, Planck founded quantum theory, and Galileo pioneered physics and astronomy.

Gregor Mendel, an Austrian priest and botanist, discovered inheritance patterns through pea plant experiments, becoming the father of genetics. Fleming discovered penicillin, and Freud founded psychoanalysis.
