Plants and Animals

 Annuals are plants which live for just one season, often less than a full year.

 Birds have scales and feathers on their body. Amphibians have soft and moist body due to presence of mucus glands in their skin.

Earthworms respire through their moist skin, a process called cutaneous respiration. They have no specialized respiratory organs like lungs, gills, or trachea. Oxygen diffuses directly through their skin into their bloodstream, and carbon dioxide diffuses out. This requires their skin to remain moist for gas exchange to occur.

The long lashes protect eyes from sand.

Among the chordates, those which develop a vertebral column fall under the category of vertebrates.

The coconut fruit has a waterproof skin and it contains fibrous husk with numerous air spaces. This helps it to survive a long journey on water.

Crocodile has a four chambered heart similar to birds and homers.

Amphioxus (lancelet) is a chordate but not a vertebrate - it lacks a true vertebral column (backbone). It belongs to the subphylum Cephalochordata, which retains the primitive chordate characteristics (notochord, dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, post-anal tail) but never develops vertebral elements. Oryctolagus (rabbit), Fish, and Sparrow are all vertebrates.

Roundworms are not segmented and should not be confused with the earthworms.

Platypus is the only mammal that lays eggs instead of giving birth to young ones.

Pythons are not poisonous. They kill by constriction, or by completely swallowing their prey.

Leech belongs to phylum Annelida

 Algae are simple microorganisms which do not possess complex tissues like xylem or phloem.

Crabs are non-poisonous crustaceans.

Amphibians have three chambered heart.

In snake taxonomy, non-venomous snakes typically have cylindrical tails and ventral scales that do not extend across the entire belly width. This morphological characteristic is used as a preliminary field identification feature. However, this is a general guideline - exceptions exist, and expert examination of other features (head shape, eye pupils, scale arrangement) is needed for definitive identification.

Cold-blooded animals cannot regulate their body temperature.
Some examples include Snakes, Lizards etc.

All the vertebrates have skull as a common part in their body structure.

Kiwi (New Zealand), Penguin (Antarctic/southern hemisphere), and Ostrich (Africa) are all flightless birds (ratites). They have reduced wing structures or vestigial wings but strong legs adapted for running. They are not all running birds, not migratory, and have varying toe configurations (ostriches have two toes, others have four).
