Computer Fundamentals and Technology

TWAIN is a standard interface for communication between scanners (and other imaging devices) and computer software. Firmware is software that is permanently stored in ROM (Read-Only Memory) and performs essential low-level functions. Unlike regular software that can be easily modified, firmware is as permanent as hardware and provides basic control for the device.

Option (4) is correct. 

When a key is pressed on a keyboard, the scan code is generated by the keyboard controller following ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards that define keyboard layout and key mappings. ASCII is a character encoding scheme, not a keyboard input standard.
