Air Pollution

Sulphur dioxide is emitted from volcanic eruptions in large quantities.

Soot and Smoke is emitted from combustion of fuels.

Afforestation is not a source of air pollution. In fact it reduces air pollution.

Greenhouse effect causes increase in global temperature.

Nitrogen is not a Greenhouse gas. It is already present in atmosphere in large quantities which does not cause global warming.

When the concentration of greenhouse gases increases in the atmosphere, they trap more heat.

The technical term given to the increase in average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere is Global warming.

It causes the Ozone layer depletion. Hence, it is a cause, not the effect.

Oxides of Sulphur cause breathing infection.

In Acid rain, both nitric and sulphuric acid falls with the rain.

 Petrol, diesel, coal and kerosene emit nitrogen dioxide during combustion.

 Refrigerator, fire extinguisher and air conditioner emit CFCs in large quantities whereas DC motors do not emit CFCs.
