The Hoysala Empire ruled Karnataka from the 10th to 14th centuries (c. 1000-1346 CE), famous for temple architecture at Belur, Halebidu, and Somnathpur. Chalukyas ruled earlier (6th-12th century), Rashtrakutas dominated Deccan (8th-10th century), and Pallavas were based in Tamil Nadu, not Karnataka.
