The Turkish Lira (TRY) is the official currency of Turkey. While Italy formerly used the lira before adopting the euro, Turkey continues to use its lira today. It was revalued in 2005 when the new Turkish lira replaced the old lira, with the 'new' prefix dropped in 2009.
