What would a costermonger sell ?

A costermonger is a street seller of fruits and vegetables, particularly in Britain. The term comes from "costard" (a type of apple) and "monger" (seller). Fish sellers are called fishmongers. Castor oil and iron sellers would be general merchants. Costermongers traditionally sold fresh produce in markets or from street carts.
