The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is composed of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Each emirate is ruled by a hereditary monarch, and together they form the federal federation known as the UAE.
