Euclid is called the Father of Geometry for his work "Elements," which systematized geometric knowledge into axioms and proofs. Pythagoras is famous for his theorem on right triangles, not for founding geometry. Descartes developed coordinate geometry (analytic geometry) much later in the 17th century.
