Ramnaresh Sarwan was the captain of the Guyana cricket team in the West Indies domestic circuit. He was a stylish right-handed batsman and one of Guyana's most successful players. Chanderpaul was a legendary batsman but not Guyana's captain at that time, Dwayne Bravo played for Trinidad, and Wavell Hinds played for Jamaica.
