The C programming language was developed by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs in the early 1970s. He created C as a systems programming language for the Unix operating system, which he also co-developed with Ken Thompson. The language became hugely influential and influenced many later languages. The other options are variations with incorrect names - Douglas is misspelled as 'Douglus' and 'Hondo' is not associated with C's creation.
