Adidas was founded by Adolf 'Adi' Dassler in Germany in 1949. The name Adidas is derived from 'Adi' (his nickname) plus 'Das' from 'Dassler'. He was previously a cobbler who started making sports shoes in the 1920s. The company's famous three stripes logo was also his creation. Adolf Reebok is not a real person - Reebok was founded by Joseph William Foster. Herbert Hainer and Igor Landau are later executives, not founders.
