Ahmedabad's airport is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. It's officially called Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Rajiv Gandhi Airport is in Hyderabad, and while there have been discussions about naming airports after other leaders, Ahmedabad's airport retains Sardar Patel's name.
