Algeria's official currency is the Algerian Dinar (DZD), issued by the Bank of Algeria. It's subdivided into 100 santeem. Peso is used by Latin American countries, Lek is Albania's currency, and Real is Brazil's currency. The Dinar name derives from the Roman denarius and is shared with several other North African and Middle Eastern currencies.
