Apple's first logo in 1976 depicted Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree, designed by Ronald Wayne. The rainbow-colored apple with a bite (often thought of as the 'original') was actually created later in 1977 by Rob Janoff. The 'Rainbow apple' and 'Red apple' options are not accurate descriptions of either logo.
