The 44th Amendment (1978) removed the Right to Property as a Fundamental Right and reclassified it as a legal right under Article 300A. This was done to reduce the number of Fundamental Rights and prevent property-related litigation from impeding land reform and development projects. Freedom of religion, constitutional remedies, and protection against exploitation remain as Fundamental Rights.
