Ghum (or Ghoom) railway station, located in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, is the highest railway station in India at an altitude of 7,407 feet (2,258 meters). It's part of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While Ladakh has higher altitude areas, it doesn't have a railway station. Ooty does have a railway station but it's not the highest.
