Who proposed heliocentric theory?

Nicolaus Copernicus proposed the heliocentric model in the 16th century, placing the Sun at the center of our solar system. Claudius Ptolemy supported the competing geocentric (Earth-centered) model. Tycho Brahe proposed a hybrid system, while Galileo Galilei was a strong advocate of heliocentrism but did not originate the theory.
