The Asteroid Belt is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, approximately 2.2 to 3.2 astronomical units from the Sun. It contains millions of rocky irregular bodies ranging from dust-sized to dwarf planets like Ceres. The belt's total mass is only about 4% of the Moon's mass.
