Wallace H. Carothers, working at DuPont, invented nylon in the 1935 and led its commercial development. Nylon was the first completely synthetic fiber and revolutionized the textile industry. J.J. Berzelius was a chemist who discovered silicon, and Adam is not associated with nylon invention.
