Under whose Premiership was the operation launched

Operation Blue Star was launched in June 1984 when Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India. The decision to conduct the operation was taken by her government in response to the growing Sikh militant threat and the deterioration of law and order in Punjab. This event had significant political consequences, including her assassination later that year.
