From 1930 to 1970, the Jules Rimet Trophy was awarded to the World Cup winner. Since 1974 the revised World cup designed by Silvio Gazzaniga was used. This trophy is made of 18 carat solid gold, weighing 5 kg, with a base of malachite (green coloured mineral copper carbonate). Total weight is 6.175 kg. This trophy is given away permanently to every winner.
