Zambia was formerly known as Northern Rhodesia during British colonial rule. It gained independence in 1964 and was renamed Zambia. Gold Coast is now Ghana, New Hebrides is now Vanuatu, and Burundi was part of German East Africa then Belgian mandate territory, never Northern Rhodesia.
