Kuttanad (also spelled Kuttand) is a region in Kerala known as the 'Granary of Kerala' due to its extensive rice cultivation. It is one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level, using unique wetland cultivation techniques. Kannur, Trivandrum, and Kollam are cities in Kerala but not associated with this title.
