The Harappan civilization domesticated several crops including wheat, barley, peas, sesame seeds, and dates - all well-documented through archaeological findings in the Indus Valley region. However, corn (maize) was domesticated in Mesoamerica and only reached the Old World after Columbus's voyages in 1492 CE, thousands of years after the Harappan period.
