The Mutiny of 1857 (also known as The Indian War of Independence) was written by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in 1909. It presents the 1857 rebellion as India's first war of independence against British rule. The Chapekar brothers (Damodar and Balkrishna) were involved in later revolutionary activities. Baba Rao and Tryambak Shankar Shejwalkar are not associated with this seminal work.
