Hotmail was founded by Sabeer Bhatia along with Jack Smith in 1996. It was one of the first webmail services and was later acquired by Microsoft for approximately $400 million. Hotmail's name was derived from HTML (Hot Mail). The other options (Rajan, Ranbhir, Rajat Bhatia) are not the founders of Hotmail.
