Acoustics is the study of sound and mechanical waves in gases, liquids, and solids. While it can be applied to study living organisms (bioacoustics), it's fundamentally about sound physics and wave mechanics, not the study of life processes. Genetics, Ecology, and Physiology are all biological sciences focused on living organisms.
