Helium is a noble gas and the simplest element in the periodic table. It is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and inert. Unlike sodium (reactive metal), gold (transition metal), or silver (transition metal), helium is a gas at room temperature and belongs to Group 18 of noble gases.
