Albus Dumbledore destroyed Marvolo Gaunt's Ring (which contained the resurrection stone), one of Voldemort's horcruxes. He found it in the Gaunt shack and destroyed it with Godric Gryffindor's sword, though the curse on the ring eventually led to his death.
