Eyes Wide Shut was directed by Stanley Kubrick but was actually adapted from Arthur Schnitzler's 1926 novella "Traumnovelle" (Dream Story), not from any Stephen King novel. Kubrick and Stephen King had a famously contentious relationship over The Shining, but Kubrick's final film was based on Austrian literature.
