Bella Swan (originally from Phoenix, Arizona) moves to Forks, Washington at the beginning of Twilight. Before coming to Forks, she was living in Phoenix with her mother, Renee, after her parents' divorce. Phoenix's hot climate contrasts sharply with Forks' rainy weather. Jacksonville is where her mother later moves, Washington is the state Forks is in, and La Push is the nearby Quileute reservation.
