Shakuni was the brother of Gandhari, making him Duryodhana's maternal uncle. He was the prince of Gandhara and is infamous in the Mahabharata for being the mastermind behind the game of dice that led to the Pandavas' exile. Shalya was Gandhari's brother-in-law (Madri's brother), while Jarasandha and Drupad were kings of other kingdoms not related to Gandhari.
