The US Open was the first Grand Slam to implement a final-set tiebreak, initially using a traditional tiebreak at 6-6. Other Grand Slams played indefinite deciding sets until the winner led by two games. The Australian Open uses a 10-point tiebreak at 6-6 in the final set since 2018, while Wimbledon and Roland Garros have also adopted similar tiebreak rules.
